Dr. Russell Hunter—Astoria, August 2013
“I always wanted to bank locally,” said Dr. Russel Hunter, “and when my previous bank left town, that was the perfect opportunity. I was not going to drive all the way to Seaside to do my banking,” he explained, and that’s when he switched to Clatsop Community Bank.
Dr. Hunter knows the people who started Clatsop Community Bank, and has known Business Development Officer Jack Ficken “since he was a boy.” “Clatsop Community Bank is our bank,” Hunter said, “and I feel good about that.”
Dr. Hunter has practiced veterinary medicine in Knappa/Svensen since 1973. His focus is on large animals, primarily horses and cattle, though he also treats sheep, goats, llamas and alpacas. He serves clients in Clatsop County and parts of Columbia County. Dr. Stephanie Ramsey, who joined the practice in 2012, is licensed in Oregon and Washington, extending coverage area to include bordering counties across the Columbia River. Dan Sutherland, animal health technician and “jack of all trades,” is also part of the team, and has been onboard since 1978.
