Seaside Oceanfront Inn/Maggie’s on the Prom—July 2014

“Clatsop Community Bank is one of the best banks I’ve worked with. It’s very easy doing business with them, and I can always call and talk to someone,” said Andy Mercer, who owns Seaside Oceanfront Inn and Maggie’s on the Prom with his wife, Sadie.

“Clatsop Community Bank is like Cheers,” Sadie said. “They all know who we are. They also appreciate how busy we are managing a property, and that the two of us are constantly pulled in different directions.”

Andy added that when the couple did their research, Clatsop Community Bank had a good reputation in the area. Andy and Sadie also knew they would be converting their current financing arrangement to an SBA loan, and wanted to work with a local bank that they could build a relationship with.

Andy and Sadie relocated to Seaside in 2013 when they purchased the hotel and restaurant. “We’ve been impressed by how supportive other hotels and restaurants have been,” Andy said. The couple lives onsite with their children, and they’ve already completed many upgrades to the property. The hotel has 14 rooms with mountain, ocean or partial views, and the restaurant seats 46 with additional seating on the patio. The restaurant has a new executive chef, and offers a seasonal menu to showcase the best of what’s fresh.

“This was a lifestyle change for us,” Andy said. “It’s been an exciting year and business is growing.”
