March Business of the Month—Seaside Wellness Center
“I felt very supported by Clatsop Community Bank when I opened my practice,” said Julia Weinberg, owner of Seaside Wellness Center.
Julia, who has now been in private practice for over a year, says she didn’t even understand all of the language around owning and operating a business when she first got started. She worked closely with the bank staff, and tapped local SBA resources for help with a business plan.
“Clatsop Community Bank is a local bank, it has strong SBA connections, and they were so welcoming and caring—answering all of my questions with encouragement and support. Those are the big reasons I chose to bank there,” Julia said.
Julia works with children, teens and adults in her practice, and has been working in the field of mental health since 2008. Her curiosity to understand how things work is the common thread that runs through her entire career. Previously, Julia worked as an electrical engineer, and then as a teacher. “I’ve been working with children and families in some capacity for more than 20 years,” she explained.
Julia relocated to Seaside from Prescott, Arizona in 2014. “I came to Seaside frequently as a child—it’s my happy place, and it was my dream to be able to live here,” she said. “I’ve felt very supported by the community—whether it is the bank, the SBA, or my peers in the therapy field,” Julia said. “I’ve also appreciated working closely with local doctors, prescribers and community/social service providers.”
Julia is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with an MA in counseling and psychology and also and holds a PhD in education specializing in cognitive development.
