May Business of the Month—Lunde Apartments
“When we refinanced our apartment building, I wanted to give Clatsop Community Bank an opportunity on the loan,” said Mickey Bambrick, who owns Lunde Apartments with her husband, Kory Slaatthaug. “We called a ton of banks, and they all said, ‘Here’s what we offer.’ At Clatsop Community Bank, however, it was different. Instead of telling us what they had, they asked us what we needed,” Mickey explained.
The refinance inquiry turned into a second mortgage with Clatsop Community Bank. “It was an option that eliminated some upfront fees and saved us a lot of money,” Mickey said.
“I tell everyone about Clatsop Community Bank. I’m never just a number there, and the banking experience is truly personal,” she said.
Mickey is a former resident of Clatsop County, where she was an avid supporter of the Clatsop Community College Foundation and funded the “Waited Awhile to Enter College” scholarship for 35 years. The full-tuition scholarship was awarded annually to a woman who waited at least 3 years after high school before starting college. Mickey also donated a home (“Bambrick House”) to the Women’s Crisis Center (now The Harbor) in 1987.
Mickey is a writer and former columnist, and is currently writing a book. She resides in La Conner, Washington with her husband, Kory, and son, Kaleb. She says, however, that her heart remains in Clatsop County.
